Though changes to Southwest Florida weather aren\’t as distinct as those in the northern states, each season has its own characteristics, with temperatures varying from 54F to 91F.

From June through September, average daily highs in the mid-80s is typical weather in southwest Florida. Precipitation peaks during summer, when the area experiences frequent bouts of heavy rainfall.

Winter

Conveniently for North Americans everywhere, winter is one of the best times of year to visit southwestern Florida.

Though the months are cooler, southwest Florida never gets very cold. Winters are short and mild compared to other parts of the country, with temperatures rarely dipping past 41F. Unlike summer, skies are typically clear, meaning sunny days will likely be in the forecast.

The Sarasota area has a subtropical climate, with a mean temperature of about 65F and significant rainfall. In Fort Myers, expect spring temperatures to average between 63F and 74F.
